They gave me permission to open the enclosure and remove hdd from inside. but some say then the pc will not ever recognise it again and i can use it only with the tv.
In some cases, you may connect your drive to a Windows PC or another device with a USB port and find that it’s not recognized. I thought bios was the issue, but it says I have three drives. The drive should then be recognized by other devices when you connect it to them. It won't show up on Device Manager/Disk Management either.

Loaded w8.1 and the drive was not recognized there.
